A workplace poster from the CareConnect USA Project details financial, resources for franchise employees

Employees at quick serve franchise restaurants who are seeking financial assistance have a new outlet for information.

CareConnect USA Project said it has been shipping workplace posters that detail financial resources for employees. The posters list national helplines and QR codes for employees seeking financial assistance. This includes information on resources for child support enforcement, child care subsidies, student loan relief, credit counseling, bankruptcy advice, and mortgage relief.

Based in Waxhaw, North Carolina, CareConnect USA Project is a 501c3 non-profit corporation, which publishes and manages helplines primarily in the financial assistance category.

According to CareCredit USA Project, the free advice and resources are serviced by government agencies, non-profits, and privately funded help centers. Measuring in at 11 inches 17 inches, the posters can be hung in kitchens where staff can discreetly connect with help when needed.

Since 2009, The CareConnect USA Project has shipped helpline posters to over 400,000 workplace locations and government offices. This is the first time they will feature QR codes for employees to learn details about programs.

Citing a recent survey from PwC, CareConnect USA Project said 61% of employees suffer from financial stress at work. As a result, productivity drops when staff members are distracted about their personal money problems.

“Their worries lead to higher turnover, absenteeism, health problems, poor performance, and even theft,” said David Moakler, CareConnect USA Project’s national director. “Workers are uncomfortable speaking with management about their private bills.”

The mission at CareConnect USA Project is to build awareness and create a stronger connection between employees and their families with helplines and available resources for assistance.

“Management can be hesitant to become involved in these matters as well, feeling it’s not their place to meddle,” Moakler said. “The poster serves as a handy solution to connect troubled employees with confidential help.”

The non-profit also distributes workplace posters containing helplines and text lines for suicide prevention, abuse, addiction, and hearing loss assistance, and legal assistance programs.
