With a focus on protein bowls, the brand offers a healthy fast food alternative.
Konala, a fast casual franchise focused on healthy food offerings and high-protein bowls, is opening its first location in Utah.
Konala’s new location is owned and operated by Tyson Adams and is situated in Provo, Utah, just west of the Brigham Young University Campus (BYU). A grand opening event is scheduled for May 28 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Adams previously launched his own food truck and earned Jersey Mike’s Manager of the Year honors in Washington state. Konala is a natural next step for him as he looked to invest in a fast-growing, health-focused brand, the company said.
“I quickly fell in love with Konala because it offers something different from what much of the quick-service industry looks like today,” said Adams. “The food is fresh, healthy and convenient, and I believe that’s exactly where the future of fast food is heading, and I’m excited to be the first to bring it to the Provo community.”
Adams is being joined by his parents in operating the Konala shop.
Given its proximity to the BYU campus, Provo presents a strong market for health-forward, family-friendly concepts like Konala. Adams was drawn to Konala for both the food and the brand’s long-term potential. This includes offering healthier, convenient meals without sacrificing speed or flavor.

Founded in 2023 by Trace and Jammie Miller, Konala’s menu features Teriyaki Chicken, Greek Steak, and Chicken Burrito Bowls, with the average bowl containing 46 grams of protein. Entirely gluten-free and free of fryers, each bowl is designed to be a well-balanced meal.
The brand currently has multiple locations in Idaho and Utah with another new location on the way in New Jersey.
