Barrio Burrito Bar announced that it has awarded a significant series of master franchise rights for several U.S. states along with international rights.
This latest series of agreements calls for development rights in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, western New York, and Alabama.
In North Carolina, Barrio Burrito Bar has signed an agreement with Madhu Sundara, Sai Bandaru, Srinivas Madhamshetti, Radhika Mukka, Venkat Karthik Gangadhar, and Supriya Thota. This is the brand’s existing master franchisee in Georgia. Under the new agreement, Barrio Burrito Bar looks to open 107 new franchised locations.
The Pennsylvania agreement is with Manish Rasikbhai Patel and calls for the opening of 135 new franchised Barrio Burrito Bar restaurants.
The Western New York is also with Manish Rasikbhai Patel and calls for the opening of 77 new franchised Barrio Burrito Bar restaurants.
The Alabama agreement is with Marc Johnston and Jennifer Cortes-Johnson, Barrio’s existing Master Franchisee for Louisiana and calls for the opening of 51 new franchised Barrio Burrito Bar restaurants.
With the new agreements in hand, Barrio said it has exceeded 1,538 contractually committed franchise units throughout the United States.
“The growth trajectory of Barrio Burrito Bar in the United States has been extraordinary and our compelling and lucrative Master Franchise program has been a driving force in the success in the company’s ongoing International expansion strategy,” said Jeff Young, chief development officer at Barrio Burrito Bar.
Additionally, new master franchises have been awarded for the state of Punjab, India and United Arab Emirates.
The Punjab, India agreement is with Sumit Seth, Ravit Ahuja and Sahil Chhabra and calls for the opening of 54 new franchised Barrio Burrito Bar restaurants. The UAE plan is with Satyendrakumar K. Patel, Pratik H. Patel and Vimalkumar D. Ahir and is expected to result in the opening of 35 new franchised Barrio Burrito Bar restaurants.
“This exceptional business model offers our Master Franchise partners the opportunity to develop and manage a territory who are remunerated with a predictable and recurring revenue stream through shared franchise fees and ongoing royalties” Young said.
Founded in 2005 in Toronto, Canada, Barrio Burrito Bar has since grown to more than 375 locations. The company entered the U.S. market in 2020. The Tex Mex eaterie’s menu includes Bang-Bang Shrimp, Crunchy Chicken, and “Extreme Fries.”
Young notes that an “accelerated development” plan has resulted in franchise agreements in over 20 U.S. states.
“We congratulate all of our Barrio Burrito Bar Franchise Partners, here in North America and overseas and welcome them for joining us on this exciting journey,” said company founder and CEO Alex Shtein.
