Expansion moves from franchisee also include Frutta Bowls locations.

The fast-casual, southwestern grill franchise Baberitos has reported a big growth move in Alabama.
Barberitos has signed a 10-unit franchise agreement in the state. Serial entrepreneur and multi-unit franchisee Haresh Patel is behind the move. Patel’s portfolio includes 10 franchise locations of American Deli, several ZTEC gas stations, and other ventures.

Our research into the business model revealed a fantastic opportunity to introduce a fresh and healthy dining option to communities across Alabama,” said Patel. “The support from the WOWorks team has made this journey seamless, and we are excited about the future growth opportunities.”
The expansion news follows the recent unveiling of Barberitos‘ reimagined look and an enhanced menu. Barberitos is part of the WOWorks portfolio, which also includes Saladworks, Furtta Bowls, Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh, The Simple Greek, and Z!Eats. WOWparks is a subsidiary of Centre Lane Partners, LLC.
The first two Barberitos locations are currently under construction in Wetumpka and Prattville, Alabama with an anticipated opening by March. This rollout will mark the beginning of a broader expansion across the state, with plans for at least four additional stores in 2025.
Other parts of this agreement include Patel incorporating Frutta Bowls into the travel centers of his gas stations. Frutta Bowls is a superfood cafe, serving a variety of healthy options such as bowls and smoothies featuring acai, pitaya and kale.

According to its locations directory, Barberitos has more than 40 locations in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. In Georgia alone, Barbreritos boasts 21 locations.
