iGrad and Cleveland State University Collaborate to Offer Financial Literacy Education for TRIO Students

iGrad, a leading financial wellness company, has partnered with Cleveland State University to offer a personalized and interactive financial wellness platform to students in the university’s TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program. This collaboration provides students with access to a range of multimedia content and tools, covering topics such as credit building, budgeting, debt management, and loan calculators.

Cleveland State University’s TRIO/SSS Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, aims to support first-generation college and/or low-income students as they work towards graduation. With over 500 students in the program, the partnership with iGrad is seen as an instrumental step in providing students with essential financial literacy resources.

Research has shown the positive impact of student financial literacy programs, as they can reduce financial stress, improve academic performance, and instill lifelong money management skills. This is especially crucial in light of declining college enrollment and degree-achievement rates, which have been exacerbated by the pandemic.

Donna Miller, Vice President of Business Development at iGrad, highlighted the importance of increasing financial literacy among college students, particularly those from vulnerable populations. She emphasized that understanding financial aid, student loans, budgeting, and credit scores can have a lasting impact on students’ financial well-being beyond their college years.

iGrad, based in San Diego, offers financial wellness solutions to a wide range of institutions, including colleges, employers, and financial institutions. The company’s Your Money Personality™ was recognized with the 2020 Excellence in Financial Literacy Education (EIFLE) Adults’ Education Program of the Year award. Additionally, iGrad received the 2019 Eddy Award for Financial Wellness by Pensions & Investments for its Enrich platform.

With their comprehensive platform and dedication to improving financial literacy, iGrad’s partnership with Cleveland State University is poised to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students enrolled in the TRIO/SSS Program. As the company continues to expand its reach and impact, it remains committed to empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to achieve financial well-being.
