BDA Partners, a global investment banking advisor for Asia, is thrilled to announce the latest deal where Honour Lane Shipping (HLS) has sold a majority stake to a consortium led by Nexus Point, an Asian private equity fund focused on control opportunities in Greater China. The selling shareholders of HLS will remain in the business and will continue to drive the company’s growth alongside Nexus Point.

Both companies are planning to extend HLS’ leadership position in the strategic Asia-US lane and strengthen their offering in other markets, including Europe, Oceania, and Latin America. Plans also include the introduction of impactful solutions to customers, expansion of air freight capabilities, and a digital transformation to enhance the overall customer experience.

KC Kung, Founder and Managing Partner of Nexus Point, emphasized their investment strategy in identifying companies with robust operating fundamentals and sustainable competitive advantages, stating that HLS satisfies all these criteria. They are optimistic about HLS’ future as one of the largest NVOCCs in the transpacific lane, and are committed to taking the company to new heights together with their new partners.

Simon Kavanagh, Partner at BDA Partners, highlighted the company’s expertise in helping entrepreneurs and families to find new partners and transition to new phases of company ownership, showcasing their strength in transportation and logistics. He expressed enthusiasm about witnessing the next stage of growth for HLS under Nexus Point ownership.

In addition to BDA Partners, HLS was advised by Alvarez & Marsal (financial, tax), Simmons & Simmons (legal), and PwC (commercial).
