A full-service kitchen, bath and closet design center franchise is opening in Lake Mary, Florida.
The Designery, which features cabinets, countertops, and flooring, will host a ribbon-cutting and walk-through on Jan. 8. This location is expected to serve residents in Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, Fern Park, Heathrow, Lake Mary, Longwood, Maitland, and Oviedo.
The location is owned by Chris and Summer Doney. Chris has extensive experience in the home improvement industry and previously served as an accountant and the managing director of information security for Menards, the Wisconsin-based home center titan.
The Doneys moved to the Orlando area from Wisconsin over a year ago, and Summer Doney is a principal software engineer at The Walt Disney Company. The couple said that they want the new location to create jobs for skilled workers while supporting local contractors and help clients get the most from their home renovation projects.
“We want to empower and educate residents by helping them improve their homes,” Chris Doney said. “The kitchen is the central location in most homes and should be a place where people can gather. We also want our The Designery location to be a hub of the community and become a place where residents can gather for free workshops to find inspiration and exchange ideas on their kitchen and bathroom projects.”
The Designery is a member of the Homefront Brands portfolio of companies and franchises, which also includes Top Rail Fence, Window Hero, Temporary Wall Systems, Yard Patrol Pros, and Roof Scientist. According to Homefront Brands.
Originally founded in 2007 as a kitchen and bath product wholesale outlet serving the Chattanooga, Tennessee market, The Designery launched a franchise program in 2021 before joining Homefront Brands in 2022. The Designery has over a dozen locations in about 12 states.
“As a member of the Menards management team, I have collaborated with Menards Kitchen Manufacturing on several projects and have worked directly with their kitchen design team,” Chris said. “This should help me tremendously as I advise clients on their kitchen renovations.”
