Whether you live in France, New Jersey, or anywhere else in the world, nothing brings the neighborhood together like a great local bakery.
Next Wednesday, on May 27, Paris Baguette’s newest bakery café will hold its grand opening in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The opening is part of the brand’s ambitious development plan that projects the brand to operate 1,000 bakeries across North America by 2030.
“We’re on a mission to reestablish the neighborhood bakery café as the heart of the community across the U.S., and we’re excited to see Ashish and Payal bring this vision to life in Cherry Hill,” said Darren Tipton, CEO of Paris Baguette.
The new café’s development has been led by husband-and-wife franchisees Ashish and Payal Shah. Payal has more than 20 years of experience in restaurant franchising under her belt, having served as an operator for brands like Wingstop, Subway, and Blaze Pizza in the past.
Paris Baguette specializes in craveable baked and brewed treats with “joy baked into every bite,” from croissants and cakes to sandwiches and wraps. They offer a wide range of hot or iced coffee and tea options, as well as smoothies.
“In our cafés we like to say, ‘Happy to see you. Happier to serve you.’ And we know Ashish and Payal will wholeheartedly embrace this approach in their neighborhood,” said Tipton.
With the addition of Cherry Hill, Paris Baguette now has 31 locations in the Garden State alone. The Shahs are expected to help facilitate the opening of at least 16 more locations across New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, the Boston Metro area, and Georgia.
“After years of experience operating successful fast-casual brands, I was looking for a concept that stood out — something with both strong brand identity and long-term growth potential,” said Payal Shah. “Paris Baguette immediately caught my attention. It brings something unique to the table: a premium product, elevated design, and an experience that blends fast-casual convenience with European-style sophistication.”
In order to reach their goal of 1,000 units in the next four years, Paris Baguette will need to open more than 600 additional cafes. That means they’ll be looking for more proven QSR operators like the Shahs who know how to deliver high-quality services and delight customers.
