Ideal Siding builds big in Chicago and beyond

The franchise looks to hit 300 locations in the next 6 years.

Ideal Siding, the home improvement and services franchise, has expanded again with its first entry in the Chicago market.

Entrepreneur and franchise consultant, Tim Michaels, is leading the location. Ideal Siding said the plan is to serve communities across Chicago’s North and Northwest suburbs, from Arlington Heights to Lake Forest. Michaels is a former Fortune 500 strategy executive with over a decade of experience in franchising, according to Ideal.

“I went from presenting Ideal Siding to clients to signing myself,” said Michaels. “It’s one of the most scalable, well-supported home services franchises I’ve seen. Being able to bring this to my hometown and build something long-term for my family is incredibly rewarding.”

And Michaels hasn’t wasted any time getting his new business up and running. Within days of completing his franchise training, he met with prospective clients and launched his first projects.

Ideal Siding has demonstrated strong growth over the past year with 2024 being its best ever. Last year the company opened 28 new U.S. locations along with two units in Canada. This marked an 85% increase in its franchise network. 

New markets that Ideal has entered in the past year include Austin, Boston, Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, Pittsburgh, and Portland. This year’s openings call for new locations in Clearwater, Florida and Nashville, Tennessee. The franchise currently has more than 70 locations.

Along with physical expansion, Ideal Siding saw six franchisees exceed the $1 million mark in revenue. This year, Ideal expects multiple franchisees to pass $2 million in annual revenue. Down the road, the company said it is positioning itself to reach 300 locations and generating $600 million in revenue by 2030.
