Emergency Pizzas for Red Cards

Domino’s kicks off summer soccer promotions

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup less than a month away, the world’s largest pizza company is making an effort to support the U.S. Men’s National Team – or at least their hungry fans.

Domino’s announced today that they will give away $1 million worth of “Emergency Pizzas” if any U.S. player earns a red card in this summer’s big tournament. The promotion will award medium, two-topping pizzas to more than 60,000 winners who register by June 10 at 11:59 p.m.

“Soccer gurus know the worst thing to happen in a game is for a player on the team you’re rooting for to receive a red card. If that happens to the American squad, Domino’s is here to help ease the pain by giving away Emergency Pizzas,” said Kate Trumbull, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Domino’s. “It may not change the outcome of the match, but it can provide a delicious pick-me-up when it’s needed most.”

A red card represents a player’s immediate ejection from the game and is generally issued for a serious or violent foul. If a U.S. star does earn a red card during a World Cup match, the team will need to play with 10 players rather than 11 for the rest of the game, creating a significant disadvantage.

The World Cup is being held across North America this summer and is expected to have an economic impact of up to $30 billion in the United States. Much of that will be concentrated around host sites like Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, Santa Clara, and Seattle, but Domino’s promotion is an example of how, like the Super Bowl, the FIFA World Cup drives a snack and party economy of its own.

In addition to their emergency pizza promotion, Domino’s is also marking North America’s soccer summer with limited edition branded merchandise and a video game tie-in that will see them give away 75,000 further pizzas between now and the World Cup through the EA Sports FC 26 game.

“We’re as excited about the summer of soccer as fans are around the country! Whether you’re planning to watch all the matches or perhaps you’re playing pickup games of your own, Domino’s has some fun ways to help you get ready,” said Trumbull.
