A dog training franchise is reporting that it has witnessed 19% year-over-year sales growth.

While specific sales figures were not released by Zoom Room, the franchise said the rise in sales is compared to sales in the first half of 2023. Based in Los Angeles, Zoom Room is an indoor dog training gym that looks to deepen the bond and communication between dogs and their human companions through its focus on socialization, positive reinforcement, human education, and interactive learning.

Zoom Room said sales increased due to “strong market demand” along with the opening of 10 new locations. Additionally, 16 new locations are in development including launches in Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Minnesota, Oregon, and Virginia. The franchise also said it expects to have more than 80 locations across the country by the end of the year.

According to Zoom Room, multi-unit franchise owners have helped fuel growth. The company points to Colin Elliot who owns franchises in Peoria and Scottsdale, Arizona and recently expanded with the acquisition of a Virginia Beach, Virginia branch.

“Zoom Room’s focus on positive reinforcement and community engagement is what attracted me to the brand initially, and that same commitment is what drives its success,” said Elliott. “The opportunity to expand my portfolio with such a high-performing location was an easy decision, reaffirming my confidence in the brand’s future and its potential for continued growth.”

Elliot’s plans call for three more openings in the Phoenix area along with possible growth in the Virginia Beach market.

“Our mid-year achievements reflect the strength of our franchise model, the dedication of our franchisees and the loyalty of our incredible customers,” said Mark Van Wye, CEO of Zoom Room. “We are excited to continue our expansion and are committed to providing exceptional support to our franchise partners and personalized customer experience for dog owners in local markets across the country.”

John and Kristy Cotthaus, the previous owners of the Virginia Beach location have since transitioned to corporate roles at the company. Zoom Room said John Cotthaus will work closely with chief growth officer Herb Heiserman on development initiatives. Kristy Cotthaus will focus on retail strategy.
