Waterloo Turf names new VP of franchise development

 The turf and synthetic grass franchise looks to grow in the Sun Belt region.

Waterloo Turf, the turf and synthetic grass franchise, has announced a new leadership move.

The Austin, Texas-based company has appointed Taylor Blom to the position of vice president of franchise development.

According to Waterloo Turf, Blom has worked in the franchise industry for nearly 15 years. He previously co-founded and grew Next Door Photos to nearly 100 locations and launched Surv Lakeshore—a home-services franchise focused on helping families with projects around the home.

“Taylor brings strong leadership, deep experience in franchise growth, and a passion for helping others succeed. In this role, Taylor will be focused on expanding our footprint and building on the momentum we’ve created across the country,” said Tim Lovett, CEO of Waterloo Turf. “We’re thrilled to have Taylor on the team and can’t wait to see the impact ahead.”

Waterloo Turf launched a franchise model in 2024. The brand has 13 locations in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Tennessee, and Texas. The company said it is targeting major metropolitan markets in the Sun Belt region to expand its franchise footprint.

In his new role, Waterloo Turf said that Blom will look to position the company as the go-to franchise for artificial turf installation and maintenance.

Services offered by Waterloo Turf include front and back yards, putting greens, commercial properties, along with playground, pet, and sports turf. The brand’s primary slogan is “Get Your Saturday’s Back!” 

When it comes to franchisees, Waterloo Turf said it is seeking franchisees with a “team captain” mindset, offering a 10% discount to owners who are ex-NCAA athletes and ex-military.
