Veteran franchise owners look to open five locations.

Scenthound reported that it is expanding its presence in Wisconsin through a multi-unit agreement that could lead to five new locations.
A new franchise agreement with the husband and wife team of Kevin and Tracy Scharnek, along with their daughter Riley, calls for the first new Wisconsin Scenthound “Scenter” to open this October in Wauwatosa.
The Scharnek family bring a strong background to Scenthound and are multi-unit owners of Orangetheory Fitness franchise locations. Kevin has served as a area developer with the brand for a decade and has more than 20 years of marketing and sales experience.
“With my parents being former franchisees of Orangetheory Fitness, in a way, I grew up in the franchising world,” said Riley Scharnek. “I knew I always wanted to dive into entrepreneurship, and after we discovered Scenthound, we knew we needed to bring these essential services to dogs across the greater Milwaukee area. Dogs are truly family, and I look forward to educating dog parents on how to better care for their four-legged loved one.”
Other markets being targeted include Brookfield, Menomonee Falls, Pewaukee and Shorewood for their additional four locations.
“Similarly to when we became franchisees of Orangetheory, we know there is a need for the types of services Scenthound offers,” added Kevin Scharnek. “Orangetheory paved its own path in the fitness industry providing preventative wellness for humans and Scenthound is the dog equivalent, creating an entirely new category that offers accessible routine wellness services so dogs can live longer, happier lives.”
The dog wellness franchise offers hygiene services. This includes its proprietary S.C.E.N.T. Check (Skin, Coat, Ears, Nails, and Teeth) detailing an assessment of each dog’s external well-being.
Scenthound notes that it is positioning prominently in a pet industry that is expected to reach sales of $277 billion by 2030. Founded in 2015, the brand has finalized plans for more than 300 franchised and corporate locations in 30 states.
The company also said that it has identified Ohio, Illinois, Indianapolis, and Oklahoma as key growth areas for franchise expansion. Regarding this latest agreement, Scenthoud said a strong foundation is being built.
“It speaks volumes when a franchise veteran invests in your brand – they know what to look for in a concept and how to build a successful business,” says Tim Vogel, co-founder and CEO of Scenthound. “Looking toward our future growth, we want to partner with franchisees who have similar backgrounds as Riley, Kevin and Tracey. They are already a strong addition to our system, and I know their passion for dog wellness will benefit many pets across Wisconsin.”
