New VP of franchise operations for Boardroom Salon

Boardroom Salon, a men’s grooming franchise, has made a new leadership appointment.

Matt Weiss has been named as the company’s new vice president of franchise operations.

The Southlake, Texas-based company said the move is based on its commitment to “thoughtful expansion, operational excellence and franchisee success.”

Weiss is responsible for leading franchisee support operations. This includes training, franchise meetings, and franchise relationships with management. The brand said Weiss is also charged with advancing systems, support, and operations that lead to franchisees delivering a consistent and successful experience for clients.

“Matt’s appointment is the result of a relationship and a level of trust that has been building since Boardroom first began exploring franchising,” said Jeff Helfgott, CEO of Boardroom Salon for Men. “He came highly recommended for his firsthand experience on both sides of the franchise relationship, and several of his ideas have already helped shape key initiatives as we continue building a solid foundation for growth. Matt brings practical insight, a strong work ethic and a collaborative mindset that will be invaluable in supporting growth across the system.”

Weiss previously served as director of franchise development at Level 5 Capital, and  supported emerging and growth-stage brands such as Diesel Barbershop, Three Degrees, and Heyday. The executive was also a Massage Envy franchisee for more than 10 years.

He already spent a week in the Dallas market working with Boardroom salon locations and local teams. Boardroom said that working in salons is an expectation for all new hires and provides them with firsthand experience.

“Boardroom’s approach to franchising is what drew me to the brand,” said Weiss. “The company is clearly investing in the people, processes and infrastructure needed to scale intentionally and create a rewarding experience for franchise partners. I look forward to partnering with the team to help build on that foundation as the company grows.”

Founded in 2004, Boardroom has expanded to 46 locations. Helfgott is a multi-unit operator of the brand and has more than a decade of experience scaling private equity-backed experiential brands. The company founder is also a U.S. Army combat veteran.

Boardroom locations provide a range of grooming services ranging from haircuts and shaves to spa services. The salon has locations in Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
