Founded in 2018 and based in Katy, Texas, Salty Dawg has three locations including Frisco, Texas and with Atlanta, Georgia. According to its web site, Salty Dawg has plans for new locations in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, along with Walnut Creek, California.
The philosophy behind the Salty Dawg is to provide the family dog with the same atmosphere and experience a human has in a beauty salon. Salty Dawg’s service-centered culture was inspired by the “Be Nice” culture found in the Paul Mitchell Schools network, the company says. This includes a “transparent and stress-free environment,” according to its website.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed by Loyalty Brands. The most recent Salty Dawg opening was July 1 in Frisco.
But in March, Salty Dawn announced the passing of its co-founder John Kanski. The leader launched the company with co-founders Winn Claybaugh and Gary Ratner.
In his Linkedin post, Hewitt said, “This acquisition marks an important step in expanding our brand portfolio and further diversifying our offerings in the pet services industry.”
Prior to this move, Loyalty Brands’ portfolio of franchise brands already included Zoomin Groomin. A mobile pet grooming service provider, Zoomin Groomin operates more than 100 locations in over 20 states.
Hewitt established Loyalty Brands in 2018 after previously founding both Jackson Hewitt and Liberty Tax Service. Other Loyalty brands franchises include ATAX, Little Medical School, American Exteriors, Loyalty Business Brokers, Ledgers, and The Inspection Boys.\
Regarding the latest move by Loyalty Brands, Hewitt said, “I am particularly excited to welcome Sally Facinelli, CEO, CFE to the Loyalty Brands team. Sally’s leadership and expertise have been instrumental in the success of Salty Dawg and her vision aligns perfectly with our mission of empowering entrepreneurs and delivering exceptional services across all our brands.”
Loyalty Brands is based in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
