Batteries Plus welcomes Rick Schanz, promotes Scott Buchalter

Batteries Plus is hoping to power their next stage of development by plugging in a fresh leader and charging up another.

The brand, which includes a network of more than 800 battery and power solution service centers, announced two appointments to their franchise development leadership team today. Scott Buchalter has been promoted to Senior Director of Franchise Relations and Administration, and Rick Schanz will join the brand as Franchise Development Manager of Resales/Conversions.

Scott Buchalter’s promotion to Senior Director comes after nearly four-and-a-half years as Director of Franchise Relations and Administration at Batteries Plus. Prior to that, he developed and led hotel brands for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. In his new role, he will oversee the end-to-end health, alignment, and governance of the brand’s franchise system while continuing to lead all franchise relations, communications, training, and community-building programs.

Rick Schanz joins Batteries Plus with more than 30 years of sales, marketing, and partnership development experience under his belt. His prior posts include Pivotal Growth Partners, where he rose from Development Manager to Senior Director of Franchise Development, and more than seven years running his own business, Marketing Master Contractors. In his new role, Rick will own the franchise resale process at Batteries Plus from end to end with a focus on developing a buyer pipeline, facilitating sales, and accelerating overall system growth.
