Just days after completing the sale of two of its health and fitness franchise brands, Xponential Fitness, Inc. announced that it has a new chief executive officer.

The global franchisor of boutique health and wellness brands reported that its board of directors unanimously appointed Mike Nuzzo as CEO, effective immediately. The move follows the retirement of Mark King who has resigned from serving as CEO and as a director on the company’s board. King announcement his retirement in May, citing health reasons.

The company said that Nuzzo brings more than 25 years of experience in consumer retail and services businesses. Most recently, he served as CEO at Eyemart Express and led the company through its acquisition by VSP Vision in January 2025. Prior to Eyemart Express, he spent seven years at Petco as chief financial officer and chief operating officer.

“I’m honored to join Xponential Fitness at such a pivotal time in the Company’s growth journey,” said Mike Nuzzo, Chief Executive Officer of Xponential Fitness. “With a strong portfolio of brands and a clear commitment to becoming the franchisor of choice, Xponential is well-positioned to expand its footprint across the U.S. and international markets. I’m excited to build on this momentum and deliver meaningful value for our franchisees, members, and stakeholders.”

On July 28, Xponential Fitness said it had finalized the sale of the CycleBar and Rumble franchise brands to Extraordinary Brands. The financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Nuzzo is currently on the board of directors for KinderCare Learning Companies, Inc. and Fleet Farm.

“The board is confident in Mike’s proven track record of operational excellence and strategic leadership, having delivered results across some of the most recognized names in the consumer services industry, with a strong track record across strategic, operational, financial, and growth-driving disciplines,” said Mark Grabowski, chairman of Xponential Fitness. “Mike’s experience scaling businesses and driving innovation, both domestically and internationally, makes him the ideal choice to lead Xponential. We’re excited about the future and thank Mr. King for his impactful contributions as CEO.”
