The beloved local toy store Wonder Works is excited to announce the opening of a third location in West Ashley, Charleston. After temporarily closing its previous West Ashley location in 2020 due to Covid, Wonder Works is returning to offer another convenient location for its loyal customers. The new store, located at 1662 Savannah Highway, is set to open in late June 2024 in the former location of Ellifox Children’s Clothing Store.
Owner Elizabeth Royall Darby is thrilled to bring the magic back to West Ashley after receiving a call from the owner of Ellifox suggesting Wonder Works as a tenant. With over 25 years of experience in West Ashley, the team at Wonder Works believes there is a high demand for a specialty toy store in the area. The store will feature popular national brands such as Lego, Jellycat, Squishmallows, Barbie, and more, along with top trending toys that are tested right here in Charleston.
Wonder Works is known for its experiential, hands-on play toy store experience and its friendly, knowledgeable staff. The West Ashley location will offer seven-day-a-week service, complimentary gift wrapping, and birthday bins to make shopping even more convenient for customers. The store will start with a soft opening in June followed by an official grand opening in July.
Founded in Mount Pleasant in 1990, Wonder Works currently operates two retail stores in the Charleston Tri-county area.
