Valmet Oyj and Körber have entered into a joint venture agreement to strengthen FactoryPal, a software developed for tissue converting operations that enhances shopfloor manufacturing performance. Valmet, a global leader in process technologies, will become the majority shareholder of FactoryPal, allowing for further development of advanced Industrial Internet solutions for the tissue industry.
FactoryPal software uses high-quality data, user experience, and artificial intelligence to optimize tissue mill operations, acting as a trusted co-pilot on the shop floor. With Valmet’s expertise in the entire tissue production process, including stock-preparation, machines, rewinders, and packaging lines, the addition of FactoryPal is expected to provide performance optimization across the value chain.
Dr. Nadja Hatzijordanou, CEO of FactoryPal, believes that this partnership will enable the company to advance product development and deliver innovative digital solutions. The joint venture is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be finalized by August 1st, 2024.
