V Foundation and Dolphins Cancer Challenge Expand Partnership at 2024 ESPYS

The V Foundation for Cancer Research recently announced a groundbreaking partnership with the Dolphins Cancer Challenge and Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, committing to a 10-year, $30 million investment in innovative cancer research. This collaboration is focused on addressing cancer disparities, especially in South Florida, and aims to improve outcomes for patients facing barriers to quality healthcare.

The Dolphins Cancer Challenge, the NFL’s largest fundraiser, has raised over $75 million since its inception in 2010 to fund research at Sylvester. By joining forces with the V Foundation, this partnership will further accelerate the pace of cancer research through the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund.

Shane Jacobson, CEO of the V Foundation, expressed excitement about the long-lasting impact of this initiative on cancer research. He highlighted the importance of addressing cancer disparities, calling it one of the significant health challenges in the United States.

Since the establishment of the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund in 2015, nearly $16 million has been awarded to 54 researchers at various stages of their careers.
