Plans for a live-action series based on the popular Ubisoft franchise Driver have been put on hold, but fans can still look forward to other exciting projects related to the series in the future. Despite no major game release in over a decade, Ubisoft is still dedicated to keeping the Driver franchise alive.
The company had previously announced a partnership with streaming service Binge for the series in 2021, but recent developments have led to a change in plans. Ubisoft has confirmed that they are no longer moving forward with the partnership with Binge for the Driver series.
While there hasn’t been a new mainline entry in the Driver video game series since 2011, Ubisoft is actively working on new projects related to the franchise. Fans can expect more information about these projects in the future, according to a Ubisoft spokesperson.
In the meantime, Ubisoft has other projects in the works, such as a Watch Dogs movie starring Sophie Wilde and Tom Blyth, directed by Mathieu Turi. Production has already begun on the movie which is sure to bring the popular video game series to life on the big screen.
Although the live-action Driver series may be on hold for now, fans of the franchise can rest assured that Ubisoft is still dedicated to keeping the series alive through other exciting projects. Stay tuned for more updates on the future of the Driver franchise.
