Two individuals were apprehended after unlawfully entering the field during the Super Bowl at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The incident occurred with about five minutes left in the third quarter of the game.
Broadcasters Tony Romo and Jim Nantz noticed the trespassers, although their appearance was not shown on TV. The interruption was brief, as play resumed without significant delay. This intrusion happened just before Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker made history by kicking a 57-yard field goal, setting a new Super Bowl record.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department later confirmed the arrests of the two individuals involved. The suspects have been identified as Alex Gonzalez and Sebastian Rivera and are facing charges of prohibited conduct at an athletic event, a misdemeanor. Both have been released without bail and are scheduled to appear in court in April.
To optimize fans safety on the field, strict security measures will be implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future. We encourage everyone to respect the guidelines and surrounding environments during sporting events.
