Sparkle Grooming, the good grooming franchise with a focus on wellness, is off to a strong start this year.

The Scottsdale, Arizona-based company reported that it has surpassed 400 awarded licenses this year. Overall, the franchise now has 438 licenses in 25 states. It was just six months ago that Sparkle passed the 300-license mark.

“We didn’t build Sparkle to chase growth for growth’s sake,” said Joe Aeppli, co-founder and chief operating officer of Sparkle Grooming. “We built it to solve real problems in pet care. Surpassing 400 licenses is powerful validation that the industry is ready for change and that Sparkle is delivering a better way forward for pet parents, groomers, and franchise owners. What we’re seeing is a clear shift toward standardized, wellness-first, membership-driven care, and we’re proud to be helping lead that change.”

The brand attributes its rapid success to its franchise system, which has been designed to perform across multiple markets. This includes a membership-based model that creates recurring demand and long-term client relationships, the company said.

Additionally, Sparkle said it is catering to modern pet parents through its full-service hygiene and grooming services. This includes the use of modern tools, streamlined tech systems, and providing a career path for groomers.

“This milestone represents more than a number. It represents the foundation of a durable, scalable business,” said Ben Crawford, co-founder and CEO of Sparkle Grooming. “Every license awarded is designed to be a business built to last in a category with long-term demand. By aligning unit economics, team experience, and customer trust, Sparkle is building a platform that can scale responsibly.”

Earlier this month, the company announced that it had reached one of its biggest license agreements to date. Sparkle reported a 67-license regional development agreement with Sanjay Bhatt for the development of locations in Maryland; Washington, D.C.; Northern Virginia and North Carolina.

Bhatt is an experienced finance and investment professional with a long-standing focus on consumer, retail, and franchise businesses, including extensive exposure to pet-focused concepts, according to Sparkle Grooming.

“This is a defining moment for Sparkle,” Aeppli said. “Sanjay brings an incredibly rare combination of institutional-level financial expertise, hands-on understanding of franchising, and a genuine passion for pets and community. As we continue to grow nationally, partners like Sanjay are exactly who we want helping lead Sparkle into its next phase.”

Bhatt’s first several locations are expected to open in the first quarter of this year.

“Sparkle is elevating grooming with beautiful, transparent salons and a modern membership model that addresses real friction pet parents experience today: long waits, inconsistency from visit to visit, and limited visibility into the experience,” said Bhatt. “It’s a more dependable, wellness-oriented approach to routine pet care. I believe Sparkle has all the ingredients to become the category-defining brand in grooming: an exceptional customer experience, a scalable operating playbook, and a leadership team built to execute. I’m excited to partner early and help build the next great platform in pet care.”

Other major agreements reached this year include Chicago, Colorado, Dallas, Nebraska, the greater Tampa market, and a 21-unit deal for the San Diego region.
