SKT Unveils AI-Powered Vet Service X Caliber in Australia

SK Telecom (NYSE:SKM) has officially launched its AI-based veterinary X-ray image diagnosis assistance service, X Caliber, in Australia. This innovative service uses AI to analyze X-ray images of dogs and cats within seconds, providing quick and accurate results for veterinarians. X Caliber does not require a separate server installation, as it utilizes cloud storage for data retrieval, allowing veterinarians to access the results on their mobile devices or PCs at any time.

The sensitivity of X Caliber is impressive, with detection rates ranging from 86% to 94% for different abnormal patterns in X-ray images of dogs. This makes it a valuable tool for veterinary clinics looking to improve their diagnostic capabilities and provide better care for their patients.

SK Telecom partnered with ATX Medical Solutions to bring X Caliber to Australia, where pet ownership is widespread. With over two-thirds of households owning a pet and a total pet population of around 29 million, the demand for quality veterinary services is high. X Caliber is now available in over 100 veterinary clinics in Australia, providing access to advanced diagnostic technology for pet owners across the country.

In addition to the Australian launch, SK Telecom has signed a commercial contract with MEDIVET Pet Hospital & Clinic in Indonesia, Southeast Asia’s largest premium veterinary hospital chain. This partnership will expand the reach of X Caliber in the region and introduce the service to new markets.

SK Telecom is also actively providing beta services to veterinary clinics in North America, Europe, and Asia, with plans to further expand X Caliber’s presence in the global market. The company is committed to leveraging AI technology to drive innovations in the veterinary industry and enhance the quality of care for pets worldwide.
