Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs cleared of charges in hotel video incident – Daily News

Los Angeles County prosecutors have announced that no charges will be filed against rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs following the release of a disturbing surveillance video from 2016 showing him physically assaulting his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. The video, taken at a hotel in Century City, shows Combs forcefully grabbing Ventura, throwing her to the ground, and kicking her before dragging her down the hallway. Ventura had previously filed a lawsuit alleging physical assault, sexual assault, and other acts of abuse by Combs, which was settled shortly after being filed.

Although Ventura’s attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, has spoken out against Combs, the rapper has vehemently denied the allegations and suggested that Ventura was seeking a “payday.” In response to the release of the video, Wigdor praised Ventura for her courage in coming forward and exposing Combs’ behavior. Combs has not yet responded to the video or the allegations.

In addition to the legal issues surrounding the assault allegations, federal agents recently raided Combs’ homes in Miami and Los Angeles as part of an ongoing investigation. While the nature of the probe remains unclear, reports have suggested that it may be related to a federal sex trafficking investigation. Combs has faced multiple lawsuits in recent months accusing him of sexual abuse, including claims made by Ventura and two other women.

Combs’ attorney, Shawn Holley, has dismissed the allegations as lies and accused the accusers of seeking undeserved paydays. The attorney for Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones Jr., who filed a lawsuit against Combs, claimed that the allegations of sexual abuse and sex trafficking were fabricated and unsupported by evidence.

Despite the legal challenges and federal investigation, Combs’ attorney Aaron Dyer has maintained his client’s innocence and criticized the excessive use of force during the raids on his properties. Dyer emphasized that Combs cooperated with authorities and has not been arrested or restricted in his ability to travel. He described the accusations against Combs as unjustified witch hunts based on meritless claims made in civil lawsuits.

As the legal battle continues, Combs remains steadfast in his denial of any wrongdoing and continues to fight to clear his name. The controversy surrounding the assault allegations and federal investigation has cast a shadow over the rapper’s reputation, but his legal team remains confident in their defense against the accusations.
