Scream Directors on Franchise Exit Post-Melissa Barrera Firing

Radio Silence, the directors behind the Scream franchise, recently opened up about their departure from Scream 7 due to Spyglass Media’s desire for a faster turnaround. This led to Christopher Landon taking over as director, only to later leave the project as well. Despite their exit, Radio Silence created Scream VI with the intention of completing the story and focusing on a new trilogy centered around the characters of Sam and Tara Carpenter.

Following the departure of key cast members Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, as well as director Christopher Landon, Scream VII faced numerous challenges. However, the franchise is back on track with Neve Campbell reprising her role as Sidney Prescott and Kevin Williamson at the helm. Rumors also suggest that other Scream alumni, including Courteney Cox and Patrick Dempsey, may return for the seventh installment.

Fans can catch up on Scream (2022) and Scream VI on Paramount+ before the highly anticipated release of Scream VII. Stay tuned for more updates on the iconic horror franchise and its exciting future developments.
