Romulus Star Seeks Entry to New Sci-Fi Series

Cailee Spaeny, known for her role in the recent movie Priscilla, is set to make her mark in the science fiction genre by expressing her interest in joining The Matrix 5. The upcoming installment in The Matrix franchise is being written, directed, and produced by Drew Goddard, the mastermind behind the popular series Daredevil. The film is set to be a standalone entry, not directed by the Wachowskis, who created the original trilogy.

The Matrix franchise takes place in a dystopian future where humanity is unknowingly trapped in a simulated reality. The original trilogy follows the characters Neo and Trinity as they try to free humanity from the system. While it is uncertain if franchise stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will return for The Matrix 5, Lana Wachowski remains onboard as an executive producer.

In addition to her interest in joining The Matrix 5, Spaeny will also be starring in Alien: Romulus, the ninth installment in the Alien franchise. The movie is set to be a standalone entry, bridging the events of Alien and Aliens. Spaeny will be joined by a talented cast including Isabela Merced, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Aileen Wu, and Spike Fearn. Alien: Romulus is set to hit theaters on August 16, 2024.

With her upcoming projects, Spaeny is poised to bring a fresh and unique perspective to the science fiction genre. Fans can catch her next in Civil War, opening in theaters on April 12, followed by her highly-anticipated roles in The Matrix 5 and Alien: Romulus. Stay tuned for more updates on Spaeny’s exciting career in the world of science fiction.
