President of World Water Council Calls for “Water Warriors” at 10th World Water Forum

The 10th World Water Forum kicked off in Bali with Indonesian President Joko Widodo officially opening the event at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC). The forum aims to address global water challenges and promote sustainable water management practices.
Key speakers at the event emphasized the importance of global cooperation, technological innovation, and involving younger generations in water conservation efforts. Loïc Fauchon, President of the World Water Council, highlighted Indonesia as the world water capital and called for concrete actions to ensure water security and promote water rights.
President Widodo chaired a high-level meeting where he stressed the need for countries to work together to address water challenges through knowledge sharing and the implementation of integrated water resources management.
The forum also included political sessions, a trade fair and expo with participants from 17 countries, as well as side events organized by the Bali Youth Plan, such as the World Youth Parliament for Water sessions.
The Heads of State visited the Ngurah Rai Forest Park to underscore the collective responsibility for the conservation and protection of the mangrove ecosystem. Minister for Public Works and Housing Basuki Hadimuljono highlighted the participation of heads of state from various countries in the series of events.
Overall, the 10th World Water Forum in Bali serves as a platform for leaders, experts, and youth delegates to come together and discuss ways to address global water challenges and ensure a sustainable water future.
