Pasadena Honors Women’s History: Celebrating Achievements, Empowering Futures

March in Pasadena is all about celebrating the achievements and resilience of women with a variety of events and initiatives for Women’s History Month. Themed “Honoring Achievements and Empowering Futures,” the city has planned a month-long schedule of events that showcase the achievements of women in various fields and inspire future leaders.

One of the highlights of the month is the Women’s History Storywalk at the Jefferson Branch Library, where visitors can take a walk through time and countries to celebrate women’s accomplishments around the globe. Additionally, the City’s Public Affairs team will be highlighting women who are actively contributing to the success of Pasadena on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

For those interested in thought-provoking discussions, “Herstory 2024: Women at Work Overcoming Barriers and Bias” at All Saints Church will feature a panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities for women in male-dominated professions. Accomplished professionals and advocates will share their insights, experiences, and strategies for breaking barriers in these fields.

Young women can also participate in the Girls’ Fire Camp at Marshall High School, where they can learn firefighting fundamentals with hands-on techniques from Pasadena Fire Department firefighters. This exciting opportunity is open to participants aged 14-18 and will take place on March 9-10.

Lastly, “Behind the Blue – A Candid Conversation Celebrating Women in Law Enforcement” at Hill Avenue Branch Library will celebrate the incredible women in law enforcement who work tirelessly to keep communities safe. Attendees will hear inspiring stories from female law enforcement officers, learn about their experiences, and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges they face in their line of work.

Overall, Pasadena’s Women’s History Month celebration is a fantastic opportunity to honor and empower women, both past and present. With a diverse array of events and activities, there is something for everyone to learn from and be inspired by. Join us in March as we celebrate the achievements and resilience of women in our community and beyond.
