NC State baseball falls in walk-off at CWS

In a thrilling showdown at the College World Series, NC State baseball fell to Kentucky in a 10-inning heartbreaker. The No. 10 seed Wolfpack put up a strong fight against the No. 2 seed Wildcats, but ultimately succumbed to a walk-off home run by Mitchell Daly.

The game was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams delivering quality performances on the mound. NC State’s Sam Highfill pitched 7 innings, allowing three earned runs, while Kentucky’s Trey Pooser held his own with 6⅔ innings and three earned runs. Offensively, third baseman Alex Makarewicz led the way for the Wolfpack with a home run and two RBIs, while catcher Jacob Cozart also had a solid day at the plate.
