Maureen T. Carpenter, a registered nurse at Western Connecticut Orthopedic Surgical Center, has been honored as a P.O.W.E.R. VIP Woman of Excellence for Fall 2024. With over 45 years of nursing experience, Carpenter specializes in orthopedic ambulatory surgery and has made a significant impact in the healthcare industry.
Carpenter earned her A.A.S. in Nursing from Pace University in 1976 and furthered her education with a B.S.N. from the same institution in 1978. She has worked in various nursing roles at Northern Westchester Hospital and the Hand Center of Western Connecticut, gaining experience in ICU, CCU, ER, and ambulatory surgery. In her current role at Western CT Orthopedic Surgical Center, she works in pre-operative and PACU, mentoring younger nurses and continuing to learn new things every day.
Outside of work, Carpenter enjoys reading mysteries and thrillers, as well as crocheting and gardening. She also spends time with her six grandchildren and looks forward to retirement when she can dedicate more time to her hobbies and family.
