Jersey Mike’s has drawn up a pair of big moves in recent days.
The fast-casual sandwich shop franchise has appointed Stacy Paterson as its new president and chief operating officer. In her new position, The Manasquan, N.J.-based company said that Paterson will lead Jersey Mike’s U.S. operations and oversee marketing and technology.
“As we continue to build out our strategic growth plan to support global expansion, I am proud to welcome Stacy to the Jersey Mike’s leadership team,” said Charlie Morrison, CEO of Jersey Mike’s. “Stacy was a key player in the growth and success of Wingstop when we partnered together there, and I look forward to bringing her expertise in digital, marketing and operations to Jersey Mike’s to accelerate our growth.”
Previously, Paterson spent nearly a decade at Wingstop where she rose to the position of chief revenue and technology officer. At Wingstop, Paterson also held senior positions marketing, innovation, technology and operations. Earlier in her career, she held leadership positions at Service King Collison Repair Centers, CB Richard Ellis, FedEx Office, and Blockbuster.
“Jersey Mike’s has built something truly special – a brand that connects with communities and delivers an exceptional experience that customers crave,” said Peterson. “I am honored to join the Company at such an important moment in its growth journey, and I look forward to working with the talented team to drive innovation, further strengthen our best-in-class operations, and expand our impact across the U.S. market.”
Adding to a marketing campaign that features actor Danny DeVito, Jersey Mike’s also announced that it has added Eli Manning to its roster. The two-time Super Bowl champion is joining the brand as a new spokesperson who will line up against DeVito in a rivalry-themed campaign. Jersey Mike’s said the campaign marks its first major creative blitz since becoming the Official Sub Sandwich Sponsor of the NFL.
In its latest ad, DeVito is shown feeling territorial as Manning and accuses the star quarterback of “stealing”. Two more ads that follow will show the duo’s playful back-and-forth competition and will debut in the fall. The campaign will carry over to Jersey Mike’s social accounts along with Devito and Manning’s.
“Eli’s charm and low-key wit combined with Danny’s big personality make for an unforgettable duo,” said Jeff Hemschoot, senior vice president of marketing, Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems, LLC. “As a proud New Jersey resident and longtime Jersey Mike’s fan, Eli was a natural fit. He’s one of Jersey’s most iconic sports figures and we’re thrilled to have him on our team.”
Founded in 1956 as Mike’s Subs with one location in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Jersey Mike’s has grown to more than 3,000 locations in the United States and Canada.
