Iowa State’s TJ Tampa chosen by Baltimore Ravens

Iowa State defensive back TJ Tampa was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft, bringing his physical press cornerback skills to the team. Fans can expect him to contribute with his large wingspan, ability to make plays on the ball, and willingness to deliver big hits in the run game. Despite his lack of top-end speed, Tampa’s smooth footwork and coverage skills make him a tough defender to beat.

During his time at Iowa State, Tampa impressed with 107 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, and 19 pass breakups. As he transitions to the NFL, he has the potential to become a starter with his size and physicality. While he may need to continue improving his coverage skills to compensate for his speed, Tampa’s abilities make him a valuable addition to the Ravens’ defense.
