Inventor Develops Smart Training Weapon

In PITTSBURGH /PRNewswire/ — “I’m a police officer and firearms training instructor, and I wanted to create a smart training weapon simulator,” said an inventor, from Winters, Calif.“so I invented the GRiP PISTOL. My design would provide data while practicing so you can identify where to make changes in grip and trigger pulls for improving shooting accuracy.”

The patent-pending invention provides an improved smart training weapon simulator. In doing so, it offers feedback with respect to hand and finger grip placement on the weapon simulator. It also provides a means of data collection and analysis to reveal non-optimal handling techniques. As a result, it helps improve accuracy. The invention features an effective design that is easy to use so it is ideal for law enforcement and firearms training instructors.

The original design was submitted to the Sacramento sales office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers. Do you think the simulation tool would be of value to as many people as the creators have intended it to be? It seems to be directed to people who would be interested in refining their aiming accuracy, such as police officers and firearms training instructors. If the creators were to market it as a product for more casual gun users who are interested in target practice, do you think it has the potential for great success in that market as well?

It’s obvious that the GRiP PISTOL has great potential as a training tool for the intended crowd, and perhaps it has further potential in other, related markets as well. With the right marketing approach, it could end up being a valuable tool for a much wider audience than the inventors have originally anticipated. However, such an introduction to more lucrative markets would (of course) require a level of safety and security education of the potential users.
