A delegation from China’s Hainan Province recently visited Switzerland to promote cooperation in the fields of medical health, education, and high-end shopping & consumption. The Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) delegation engaged in discussions and research meetings with various important Swiss companies and institutions including Merck, Richemont, Roche Diagnostics, EHL Hospitality Business School, and more.
The Hainan Free Trade Port Medical & Health Industry Exchange Meeting took place on July 4 in Zurich, Switzerland, where nearly 50 representatives from Swiss companies and industry associations attended. The Swiss counterparts acknowledged the favorable business environment and preferential policies of the Hainan FTP, particularly in the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone, highlighting the potential for growth in the medical and health industry.
The conference resulted in contract signings between Sonova & the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone, Industrie Biomediche Insubri SA & Susheng Biotech, and Dr. Dünner AG & Winhealth Pharma. Switzerland Global Enterprise also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development to promote innovative development in life sciences and the medical health industries.
Overall, the exchange activities between Hainan Province and Switzerland aimed to enhance cooperation and leverage the preferential policies of the Hainan FTP. Swiss enterprises were invited to participate in the upcoming 5th China International Consumer Products Expo in April 2025, demonstrating a commitment to fostering strong partnerships and collaboration.
