Grand Opening of a New Financial Wellness Center in San Diego’s Promise Zone

California Coast Credit Union (Cal Coast) and Logan Heights Community Development Corporation (LHCDC) are excited to announce the grand opening of a new Financial Wellness Center at the LHCDC. This center will provide no-cost financial coaching to residents and businesses within The San Diego Promise Zone (SDPZ), covering a 6.4-square-mile area that spans East Village and Barrio Logan east to Encanto. The SDPZ is home to the City’s most culturally rich and ethnically diverse neighborhoods, but also some of the most disadvantaged and underserved communities. The new Financial Wellness Center is the fourth of its kind that Cal Coast has established in partnership with organizations in San Diego County.

California Coast Credit Union, founded by San Diego teachers in 1929, is the longest-serving financial institution headquartered in San Diego County. With over $3 billion in assets, the credit union serves nearly 200,000 members through its network of 25 branches and 60 shared branch locations, as well as 30,000 fee-free ATMs nationwide. California Coast is a not-for-profit organization that provides no-cost financial education for both adults and youth. The credit union is committed to improving the lives of its members and others in the community. Membership is open to anyone who lives or works in San Diego or Riverside counties.

The grand opening of the new Financial Wellness Center at the LHCDC is a testament to California Coast Credit Union’s dedication to serving the community and providing valuable resources to those in need. The center will offer tailored financial coaching to help individuals and businesses manage their finances effectively and achieve their financial goals. This initiative will play a crucial role in supporting the economic development and well-being of the San Diego Promise Zone.

The launch of the Financial Wellness Center is part of California Coast Credit Union’s ongoing efforts to empower individuals and communities through financial literacy and education. By partnering with organizations like LHCDC, Cal Coast is able to extend its reach and impact, providing much-needed support and resources to underserved areas.
