A major swim school franchise is growing its brand in Southern California.
Goldfish Swim School Franchising, LLC announced that it has signed an agreement with franchise group GSS Los Angeles, LLC. The group is led by regional entrepreneurs Jason Adler and Alex Wang.
Plans under the agreement call for the development of seven new swim schools in Los Angeles over the next several years. The first is scheduled to open in late 2026. Goldfish Swim School currently has 195 schools in 40 states and Canada.
Adler and Wang are both Los Angeles residents and arrive with backgrounds in investment management.
“As fathers of children, my business partner Jason and I were drawn to Goldfish Swim School not only for its strong brand recognition and proven leadership, but also for the opportunity to bring quality swim instruction to families in a growing area,” said Wang. “We look forward to expanding the brand in Southern California and building a strong foundation for future growth.”
According to Goldfish Swim School, each new location in Los Angeles will feature a feature a state-of-the-art, shiver-free 90-degree pool, a viewing area for parents and a tropical-themed facility designed to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for kids and parents alike.
The school’s curriculum and small class sizes allows children to develop essential swim skills while building confidence in their abilities, Goldfish Swim School said. Additionally, the school provides swim lessons and water safety instruction for infants and children aged 4 months to 12 years, teaching children how to be safer in and around the water.
“As we expand further in California, we are pleased to welcome Alex and Jason into the Goldfish Swim School family, and we know their passion and commitment to water safety make them ideal school owners,” said Chris McCuiston, Goldfish Swim School CEO and co-founder. “Their dedication will lead the way as they educate children how to be safer in and around the water throughout Los Angeles.”
Goldfish currently has three schools within the state located in Alison Viejo, Santa Ana, and Ladera Ranch, California.
The franchise said it is seeking new franchisees for the development of new schools in the Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, and Los Angeles markets.
Based in Troy, Michigan, Goldfish Swim School was founded in 2016 by the husband-and-wife team of Chris and Jenny McCuiston. More than 150 additional schools are in development.
