Future of Tech in Multifamily: Apartments, Hospitality, and Community Living

Parks Associates’ which is to be having its second annual Smart Spaces: Apartments, Hospitality, and Community Living conference on September 24-25, 2024 in Texas, has released a call for papers. Here are the themes and dates:

• March 21 – PropTech Revenue and ROI
• July 23 – Smart Living: Attracting and Retaining Residents
• December 12 – Smart Spaces: Access Control and Security in Multifamily

These sessions are open to anyone who has valuable insights and experiences to offer. They span topics such as building a connected community, the resident experience, data, and analytics, regulations in the housing industry, growth in the technology sector, and much more.

The MDU research conducted by Parks Associates found that almost 40% of MDU residents are intrigued by smart home devices that are provided by property owners. The study acknowledges that smart devices, as amenities, could make potential residents interested in living at a particular location. The study discovered a heightened interest in smart home technologies especially among families with children, remote workers, and those who have professional security services. The research also emphasized the role of smart devices in enhancing the interactions and experiences of residents and property owners in MDU and hospitality environments.

The second annual Smart Spaces event is hosted by Parks Associates and backed by ADT Multifamily, Cox Communities, Nice, Vantiva, Calix, Homebase, Kwikset, and Dojo Networks.

Elizabeth Parks, the President, and CMO of Parks Associates, remarked, “Connected technologies and innovative solutions are reshaping apartments, hospitality, and community living environments to deliver enhanced experiences for residents and improved operations for owners and property managers. Smart Spaces delivers data-based insights on this growing area, highlighting multiple new business and revenue opportunities for builders, service providers, tech companies, and insurers.”

Smart Spaces events are meant to facilitate beneficial conversations and partnerships in the tech community. During the conferences, Parks Associates will present their extensive consumer and industry research, which is drawn from their quarterly surveys of 8,000 internet-using households. If you wish to request data or set up an interview, please contact Mindi Sue Sternblitz-Rubenstein.

Smart Spaces, as a result, will also provide opportunities for networking with industry leaders, access to the latest consumer research, and panels that will debate the most crucial issues and trends in smart apartments and hospitality. So, property owners, tech businesses, and service providers are all encouraged to attend this event, as well as anyone else involved in the management or development of multifamily residences and hospitality spaces.
