The incident occurred during the Sunland-Tujunga Independence Day Parade, where Trejo, 80, was a participant. The parade, themed “The Magic of Sunland-Tujunga,” took place along Foothill Boulevard, with Trejo reportedly leaving his vehicle to confront the person responsible for throwing the water balloon.
According to reports, Trejo was hit by a second water balloon, leading to a brief altercation where he threw punches and was knocked to the ground. While witnesses noted that Trejo was more about confronting than attacking, the situation escalated after he was hit.
