Christina Cultural Arts Center Inc. (CCAC) has appointed Shysheika Edwards as the new Executive Director, effective immediately. With over a decade of experience at CCAC, Shysheika has demonstrated a strong commitment to empowering underserved communities through the arts. She has held various leadership roles within the organization, including overseeing key programs such as the 5 STAR ECAP preschool academy and the HeArt Under the Hoodie after-school youth violence prevention program.
In her new role, Shysheika will lead the implementation of CCAC’s strategic vision, manage financial operations, cultivate relationships with donors and funders, and oversee the development of a new property at 715 N. Orange Street. Her focus will be on enhancing existing arts and education programs, expanding brand awareness, and providing support to the Board of Directors.
With a background in education and nonprofit leadership, Shysheika is well-equipped to guide CCAC into its next chapter of growth and impact. She holds a Bachelor of Science in History, a Master of Education (M.Ed.), and a Nonprofit Leadership Certification. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in a related field.
Under Shysheika’s leadership, CCAC is poised to continue its tradition of excellence, fostering artistic expression and educational advancement for all. The organization has been dedicated to transforming lives through the arts for over 75 years, providing high-quality arts education, cultural programming, and community engagement initiatives.
