‘Ballerina’ Spinoff Adds Scenes to Protect ‘John Wick’ Franchise

Ballerina, the highly anticipated John Wick spin-off starring Ana de Armas, has been delayed by a year to add new material and enhance the film’s quality. Ian McShane, who plays Winston in the Wick films, revealed that director Chad Stahelski was brought in to ensure the film meets the high standards set by the franchise. McShane also criticized The Continental prequel series for not consulting key figures such as Keanu Reeves, suggesting this may have impacted the series’ portrayal of characters.

The plot of Ballerina centers around a young female assassin seeking revenge for her family’s murder, with Reeves teasing de Armas’ character, Rooney, and her quest for justice. The film is set to be released on June 6, 2025, and fans can currently enjoy the John Wick franchise on Netflix. For those interested in exploring more of the John Wick universe, the limited series The Continental can be found on Peacock. Stay tuned for more updates on Ballerina as the new release date approaches!
