Authority Brands announced that it has named Josh Creear as its new chief financial officer.
The Columbia, Maryland-based company, said Greear brings more than 25 years of experience in franchise leadership. He most recently served as CFO at Primrose Schools, a national early education and care franchise, where he oversaw finance, analytics, accounting, and business services.
The appointment of a new CFO follows the company naming Jay Caiafa as its new CEO in July.
“Authority Brands is committed to driving value for franchise owners, employees, and customers, and as CFO, I look forward to advancing that mission,” Greear said. “I’m thrilled to join a company so closely aligned with my values and to work with Jay and the rest of the leadership team to build on Authority Brands’ strong foundation and create opportunities for our franchise owners, our colleagues, and our stakeholders.”
Greear has also held senior leadership roles, including Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Cracker Barrel and various financial leadership positions at The Home Depot.
This year has been a hot year for growth at Authority Brands. For the first half of 2025, Authority Brands reported that it welcomed 120 new franchise owners and awarded 156 territories. This equals its full-year totals for 2022, the company said.
“We’re incredibly excited to welcome Josh to the team,” said Jay Caiafa, Chief Executive Officer, Authority Brands. “From day one of joining Authority Brands, one of my top priorities has been finding the right CFO to help champion our next phase of growth, and Josh brings the business acumen, insight, and leadership we need. His proven ability to lead financial strategy in established yet fast-growing organizations makes him an invaluable partner as we continue to scale.”
