AG&P LNG awarded 20-year contract for LNG terminals in Sulawesi-Maluku Power Cluster

AG&P LNG, in partnership with a consortium, has secured a major 20-year contract with PT PLN Energi Primer (PLN EPI) in Indonesia to develop, own, and operate LNG import terminal infrastructure. This collaboration aims to supply seven power plants with LNG and natural gas, with a total output of 1,510 MW. The project is part of the Sulawesi-Maluku cluster, the largest energy hub in Indonesia, with an expected commissioning in the first half of 2026. PLN EPI, a subsidiary of PT PLN (Persero) Indonesia, will be the customer and co-shareholder of the system, utilizing LNG from its domestic allocation.

The joint venture between AG&P Indonesia and Consortium members will focus on planning, financing, and operating LNG infrastructure at seven locations within the Sulawesi-Maluku cluster. This includes the development of LNG carriers, floating storage units, and onshore regasification facilities to support the energy demands of Indonesia. Karthik Sathyamoorthy, Managing Director of AG&P LNG, highlighted the significance of the project in supporting Indonesia’s transition to LNG-based power generation and reducing fuel consumption.

Rakhmad Dewanto, Director of Gas and Fuel at PLN EPI, emphasized the importance of the partnership with AG&P LNG in developing LNG midstream infrastructure for power clusters in Indonesia. The project aligns with Indonesia’s goal of enhancing energy security and promoting cleaner energy sources. Nebula Energy, a key player in clean energy development, expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting their vision for sustainable energy investment.
