AlphaGraphics sees franchise agreements surge

Existing franchisees are seeking additional locations.

Business center franchise AlphaGraphics has witnessed a steady stream of growth in the past year, partially fueled by expansion moves from existing franchisees.

The franchisor of printing and marketing solutions reported that it reached 30 new franchise agreements across its network last year. Additionally, 18 agreements were awarded to new owners joining the AlphaGraphics network while 12 agreements were also awarded to existing franchisees expanding with new locations.

According to AlphaGraphics, its pipeline of new franchise agreements places it above typical franchise benchmarks of awarding between 5 to 20 annually. AlphaGraphics said the surge in growth is due to growing demand for print and marketing services.

“AlphaGraphics continues to grow by leaps and bounds, and we credit that growth to our outstanding franchise owners and to our loyal and expanding customer base,” said AlphaGraphics Vice President of Retail Network Development Bill McPherson. “Our model of ensuring our franchisees stay happy and that they deliver quality products and services to their local customers has paid off with our continued success.”

AlphaGraphics has more than 285 locations in six countries and offers a complete range of print, visual communications, and marketing products. Solutions provided include full-service digital, offset, and large format printing; design services; mailing; one-to-one marketing solutions; promotional products; and web to print solutions.

Another key to the brand’s growth is current franchisees who want to own another location. AlphaGraphics said this is a validation of the brand’s profitability and long-term potential.

“Our focus on finding the right people who fit our franchise culture has helped everyone flourish,” McPherson said. “While financial criteria and market availability still play a part, it takes a community of people who enjoy what they do and thrive in this culture to garner this type of growth year after year.”

Last November, AlphaGraphics launched a new business model. The new format is designed to make business ownership more accessible by reducing upfront investment requirements and simplifying operations for new entrepreneurs.

AlphaGraphics is owned by Fortida, which is the brand identity of MBE Worldwide S.p.A., headquartered in Italy. The Fortida portfolio includes more than 3,200 business center locations in 57 countries with annual global gross revenue of $1.65 billion.
