In partnership with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and JETRO, Silicon Valley venture capital firm 500 Global has announced the launch of the second cohort of an educational program aimed at enhancing the skills of Japanese venture capitalists. The goal of this program, Venture Capital Unlocked: Tokyo, is to support the vision of positioning Tokyo as a central hub for venture capital by providing participants with the tools and knowledge needed to become better investors.
The program will consist of four days of in-person workshops in Tokyo from October 15 to 18, as well as two virtual sessions led by US-based VCs. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from 500 Global’s experts through experiential learning and curated lessons, covering topics such as Early Stage Investing Frameworks, Fund Modelling & Portfolio Construction, Valuations, and Term Sheet Negotiations & Scaling Startups.
The first cohort of the program, held in March 2024, received positive feedback with a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 97. The upcoming program aims to build on this success and provide participants with a platform to engage with the latest investment trends both locally and globally.
