Sarah A. Burlee of Hope Mills, North Carolina, has been named Woman of the Month for June 2024 by P.O.W.E.R. (Professional Organization of Women of Excellence Recognized) for her exceptional achievements in medical planning and government.
With over 20 years of experience in medical operations, planning, and training, Sarah began her career as a certified emergency medical technician and later attended officer candidate school in 2007. In addition to her work as a medical planner, Sarah is also an executive coach, Red Team member, group fitness instructor, and Girl Scout troop leader.
Sarah holds a B.A. in American Studies from Claremont Mudd Scripps University and has completed M.A. and M.S. degrees in safety, security, emergency management, and hospital administration. She has also worked as a Fellow at the Department of State, Medical Bureau, Office of Operational Medicine, assisting with emergency medical planning for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
In her free time, Sarah writes fiction under a pen name, cares for her four rescue dogs and two rescue cats, and volunteers as a group fitness instructor. She is also the founder of Girl Scout Troop 705 in Hope Mills, North Carolina, which has grown from 2 members to over 20 and is planning a trip to Latvia to connect with a sister troop.
