Police link Buick to trio of break-ins

In recent news, Leroy Moody, 42, was arrested for breaking into three houses in the Memphis area over a three-month period. He is facing charges of aggravated burglary and theft of property totaling between $2,500-$10,000. The incidents took place between February and April, with stolen items including televisions, jewelry, wedding rings, shoes, and a speaker.

During the first burglary on February 26, a victim reported a silver vehicle parked in her driveway and an unknown man wearing blue jeans and a baseball cap under her carport. The second incident on March 6 involved a stolen vehicle identified as a Buick LaCrosse based on surveillance footage. In the third burglary on April 12, a neighbor’s video footage showed a male suspect in a silver Buick with Tennessee tags.

After investigating the vehicle, it was found to be registered to a woman who reported selling it to Leroy Moody, who had allegedly stolen her tags. Police positively identified Moody as the suspect responsible for all three burglaries. He was subsequently arrested and is currently being held on a $40,000 bond.

It is important to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to local law enforcement to ensure the safety and security of our communities. Such incidents highlight the importance of neighborhood watch programs and the use of security cameras to deter and identify potential criminals.

By staying informed and working together, we can help prevent future crimes and hold perpetrators accountable for their actions. Let us all strive to create a safe and secure environment for ourselves and our families.
